Meet the Flock
Birds of a Different Feather
Yes, that beautiful lutino cockatiel is best friends with one of our special pineapple conures. Over the years, we’ve found that many different species can co-exist if they are raised together. The important factors are temperament and size. Similar sized parrots with even temperaments do best together. Does the cockatiel think he is a conure or is the conure sure he’s a cockatiel.
Another special relationship is that of parrotlets and cockatiels. Parrots raised with other compatible species seem to be better socialized.
The images below show some of the species that we have raised together in the past learning to interact and play together . We are no longer raising the white cockatoos since many are being sent to sanctuaries from owners who don’t understand their needs and end up creating neurotic unadoptable creatures.
