These largest of the Poicephalus Genus have an unmatched personality, reminding us of a larger Caique with surprising talking ability. COCKATIELS

At Live Oak Aviary, our breeding facility we have a large flock of cockatiels of many different mutations.  They move in and out of the breeding cages to cages without next boxes so as not to over-stress the females who can become Calcium deficient from egg-laying. 

Because of the large number of breeding pairs, we almost always have a variety of hand-fed, playful, friendly youngsters ready for you to visit on Saturdays and Sundays at Parrots Naturally in Woodland Hills, 

The parents feed for the first 2-3 weeks after hatching after which Judy and Bill take over the chore 4-5 times a day.  At 8-10 weeks we offer a variety of vegetables, greens and sprouts in addition to our very popular Mini Pellet mix.
